Zipling in North Carolina 2011

Sorry, I have been lax in posting recently, but time flies by without realizing how long it has been since updating.

Don and I had the opportunity to try our hand at ziplining in October. If you have never done it, I would highly recommend getting out there and let 'er rip, I mean ZIP. We actually used a company that has received reviews of being one of the top ziplines in the country, as a matter of fact, in the top ten.

Don joined me on a conference and we had a day to do some recreational team activities, the group we joined was a great bunch of folks from up and down the eastern coast.

Here is a preview at some of the great times we had. Our longest zip was 800 yards, highest above ground 120', YIKES!

And did I mention the great swinging bridges and waterfall, it was absolutely beautiful, 8 different zips in all. Enjoy!

Christmas 2011

Another great Christmas has come and gone. I always love spending time with family and friends, while giving thought about those no longer here to help celebrate. I am very thankful for all of these joys in my life. Hope you enjoy some of my greatest treasures, including the end of the day, almost dark of the moon sunset, with my BFF, Papa Don and a nice glass of vino.

Somehow, our oldest son, Nathan, avoided the shutter this Christmas. I will do much better next year at getting him from behind the camera and out in front. And kids, you can thank me later for the flattering photos.

Family Time

Here is Nathan and Jen's crew. What a great crew, I am thinking that Levi will be spoiled beyond belief with these big bros and sis.

I love this picture of Jeremy (Maynard) and Michelle, yes I have a more subdued one, but I couldn't resist this one for the post.

Poppa and I survived several days with the grands, without the moms and dads - YIKES!!!! All of them were here except for the new little guy. Alex - 17, RJ - 12 (holding his little bro - Levi), Annie - 10, and Kort - 4.5. They were great but sure did wear us out!

Beth, Schuyler and the Kort Meister!

There's a new "fiancee" in the family. Yes, Jared popped the question in June and Ashley said yes. We are all thrilled and very happy for them. Hope she knows what she is in for :)

Over the 4th of July, we were very fortunate to have all of our kids and grands. What a crew, loved having them all here, except for the 8 loads of laundry that followed.........

Baby Levi's shower

This weekend gave me some time to enjoy my daughter-in-law's company while attending her baby shower. Yes, we are scheduled to be grandparents again around the 4th of July. Sir Levi Scott Looper is going to join our growing group of wonderful grands. His mommy, Jennifer was glowing and is very excited about becoming a first time parent. She is learning as she goes and I know she is going to be a great mommy. Levi's room is all ready and decorated with western gear along with all of the accessories. Will let everyone know when he gets here, I know his mommy is hoping sooner than the 4th, but we all know, these babies have a mind of their own.

BVI 2011

Well, here I go, hoping that I know what the heck I am doing with this blog thing. The Looper man and I just returned from 2 weeks in the BVI. All I can say, if you haven't been, you need to go. Of all of islands we have been to, these are some of the most beautiful and different we have experienced. We stayed on the largest island of Tortola, but visited Marina Cay, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and the famous Soggy Dollar Bar where we picked a little something for a special Regan that we know and talked with Foxy at the infamous Foxy's. Now Mom when you see the pictures, I just want you to know that I didn't leave Don for the monkey at Foxy's. Then at the West End where we caught the ferry for Jost, I say a boat with the name of another special little lady. Yes, indeed it was a LOLA. And CTM, the picture of the tip jar at Soggy Dollar is for you, just wanted to remind Johnna to be kind to you. Hope you enjoy the pictures, we sure enjoyed the experience.

Christmas 2010

Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas as much as Looper and I did. Having the kids and grands makes my heart happy. Time goes by too fast when they are all around and I always hate to see them go home. But the New Year is here and we are looking forward to Springtime already, I am not a winter type of person. We have lots of things planned for the coming year, so stay posted and I will share some of our adventures with you.
