Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day, especially spending time with the family and enjoying our beautiful outdoors. Some of the clan made it in by Saturday in time to spend some good lake time in the "Love Potion", but not before my first Orioles of the season visited the hummingbird feeders.

These little nectar thieves entertained us for most of the morning, then it was time to head off to the marina for a day of fun in the sun. Beth and Kort got brave enough to hang their feet in the water from the swim platform.

But Jared, Ashley, Schuyler and Don decided to just soak up some of those May rays.

Later that evening, Maynard and Michelle joined us for a family fish fry, compliments of our Wahoo trip to Bimini this past winter. It is amazing how standing around a fish fryer can lead to solving the problems of the world. I think the guys had this down pat.

Needless to say, the end product was awesome.

After a wonderful evening with belly's stuffed, we headed to the Grove the next morning to spend time with Mom, my sister and family.

And of course a few pictures had to be taken. This is my Mom, Neacie and Me, Tanna, Lana, Samantha, Stacey, and Beth.

Neacie and her girls.

Me and Beth.

All in all it was a great weekend with spending time with my family and remembering those Moms we dearly miss.

Boating Season 2012

Well, Saturday, April 28th, 2012 was the 7th Annual Blessing of the Fleet in Pontiac and marks the official kickoff of the boating season. As you can see below, Don and Dave were making sure everything on the Love Potion was in top notch working order. Talk about a head rush :)

The weather cooperated and The Looperman was happy to be out running down the lake in style, that is the Theodosia bridge in the background and the lake is at it's normal pool.

Dave and Leann felt a need for speed that day, so the Allison was their boat of choice for the Blessing. Yes, Leann, I give it a thumbs up myself.

While sitting out on the water, Little Miss Regan kept telling her Mommy, "out, out", next thing I knew she had her leg lifted up like she was going over the front of their boat and plunging into the water, but Mommy had a grip on that little girl.

This picture brings back a lot of memories as a child. My parents would tell me it was time to get out of the water because it was too cold. Of course with my teeth chattering and blue lips, I would always argue that I wasn't cold at all. The cold waters for the day didn't bother this young lady.

The day was a great success even without the Priest showing to do the Blessing. It's not everyday you can say you were blessed by the Captains. Happy Boating everyone.
